GBC's decision for online worship
Dear Grace Family,
I know this is a difficult time, but what a time to trust God. As your shepherds, we are praying for you all. know this is the right thing to do. The Lord has provided us with technology that can make this short time seem even shorter.
As we stated last night, we are planning on using technology to continue our normal routine of gathering together each Lord’s day.
Starting this Sunday, we will be using Facebook live online format to stream an abbreviated Sunday morning worship service.
As this time draws closer, we will send out links and means for you to enjoy this time together even though we are apart.
Here are a few helpful matters to consider during this unique time:
- This is not the church shutting its doors: During this unique time, let’s not think of this as a going out of business sale, but us adapting to the challenge and using all of our resource to minister to the body. What this time ought to remind us is that the church is way more than one hour on Sunday mornings, but to a life lived on mission for our Lord.
- This is the church using this moment to minister the gospel: We need to follow the practical guidelines of safety but let us not lose sight of how many people today are filled with fear and anxiety. It can be a rich time to share our faith with a neighbor.
- This is the church redeeming the time: Let’s take this time to talk about what really matters. We can spend countless hour watching the news and cycling through social media and neglect our time in God’s word, playing with our kids, reading to our kids, and praying with our families. It also gives us a few minutes to text or call a church member to see how they are doing.
- This is the church experiencing a new way not to forsake the Lord’s Day:While we cannot gather as a church, we should still give special attention to Bible study, prayer and worship. This is why we are going to Livestream this Sunday’s service at 10:30AM. We are planning on using both Facebook and GBC YouTube channel to broadcast this event.
In summary, for the next 15 days, we will not have our normal cooperate gatherings, which include Sunday worship, Partners Discipleship Class, and Sunday Night Fellowship.
This is a time for us to be more diligent in our efforts to worship and serve and give.
Since we are not gathering on Sundays, we want to make you aware that your weekly act of worship through giving can be done through the church website online giving format.
The church has made this super easy for you through PayPal. The instructions are on the giving page of our church website: Grace Bible Church.
